In a Nutshell

..this is all about dreams! what we dream at different stages of our life, from childhood till the day we die!!

------------------------------------------------------------
in a nutshell

beyond the horizon beneath the deep sea,
lies the world which we cannot see.
where, no one can reach not even the light's beam;
in a nutshell, we call it a dream.

fairies and goblins used to dominate the scene,
then came distinctions, caramel and ice-creams.
grandma's ghosts exploited mellowness with midnight screams;
in a nutshell, adolescence was altogether a different realm.

senesce trounced the vernal tenure,
and our dreams became  passably mature.
career and relationships made them little sour;
in a nutshell, the life ahead opened the door.

then came the age of influence and fear;
from the corridor of peace rose the mighty terror!
politics and concerns pushed cherubic images to the rear;
in a nutshell, life was moving in fourth gear!

from fourth to fifth it has to come to a bay,
bygone seraphic memories will flashback on the way.
those final moments will wish for a back gear in our tray;
in a nutshell, the life's engine has to stop some day.

Man your composition made me empathize the driver who has been moving gears between stages of life. I had never thought of life in such a way, its amazing. But my fears are that I am in my mid 20s and am already moving on the fifth gear. And like your last stanza says, I wished if there was a mechanism to reverse gears.....I wonder what will it be like to read the same in my 50s.

@murarka:
WOW!! thats the most sound and quick-witted remark i have ever come across!! and dont worry dude, by the time you turn 50, either there will be cars with more no. of gears or the gear system itself will be abolished!(science hai ;)) so this poem will make no sense for Mr. Murarka@50!!

great poem! leaves u tensed up though. u know God can teach u through ur dreams, if u let him. and usually past 30 ur gears will reverse, have to... then i hope to see next level of ur poetry! i bet it will be even more inspiring. keep it up!
